Keeping Girls in School with Menstrual Education and Hygiene Kits

In 2025 we conducted a survey in the Kinawataka and Banda communities, we found that 8 out of 10 girls do not have access to menstrual products.

Many turn to unhygienic means, prostitution to earn money for pads, and miss up to 63 days of school every year. This leaves them vulnerable to exploitation and leaving school at a young age.

Through menstrual education and hygiene kits we have helped 300+ girls understand their bodies and given them reusable menstrual pads, underwear and waterproof carrying bags for school.

Period poverty should never stand between a girl and her future.

"When girls cannot afford pads it may lead to them dropping out of school early which can also lead to early marriages and teenage pregnancies because they have nothing else to do."

In our survey we found that 8 out of 10 girls will not miss school when given adequate menstrual products.

Our menstrual hygiene kits with reusable menstrual pads are donated by local sewing groups, mom's groups and other charitable organization.
